After School Clubs

We are very excited to be able to offer additional extracurricular opportunities for EACMSI students! For the 2017-2018 year we are planning for Chess Club, Upper Level Programming Club, and Upper Level Basketball teams!  Club participation includes a healthy snack and supervision from 3:30 – 5:30 on club days.

As we grow our club offerings, the number of students on campus after school hours also grows.  In order to ensure the safety of all students on campus, we will be streamlining the club dismissal process and providing additional staff.

Beginning with the 2017-2018 year all students participating in EACMSI clubs (other than EACMSI Ski Club) must either 1) be pre-registered for our After School program on club days or 2) pay a club participation fee.

If your child is already registered for our After School program on the day that club meets, there is no additional charge for club participation. If your child is not already registered for After School on club days, the applicable club participation fee will be assessed to your Smart Tuition account.

Upper Level (IYB) Basketball Teams – November through March

Our basketball team, which participates in the Ithaca Youth Bureau league, practices once per week at EACMSI from November through March. We focus on learning basketball skills and rules of the game, improving our fitness and abilities, having fun, and working together to represent our wonderful school. When we return from winter break we’ll continue practicing once weekly and we’ll also play games against other elementary schools in Ithaca on the weekends. Games take place at various school gyms on Saturday mornings from January through February, then end with a half-day tournament at Ithaca High School the third Saturday in March.

You MUST register in order to participate.

The season kicks off with a clinic at Ithaca College run by the Ithaca College women’s basketball team on November  11th followed by a brief parent/coaches meeting. Practices begin the following week for both teams: Mondays 3:30-4:30 for the girls team, Friday 3:30-4:30 for the boys team. It is possible we may have scrimmages on some Wednesdays (dates TBD). This will be optional for any team members. We ask that families interested in participating attend the coaches/parent/player meeting on the day of the clinic.
