EACMSI Afterschool Program
The EAC Montessori After School program meets Monday – Friday from 3:30-5:30 whenever school is in session. Please note, however, there will be no After School on the following all staff development meeting dates: 10/2/2018, 1/29/2019 and 4/2/2019.
Families must register their child(ren) in advance for regular attendance and may register for up to 5 days per week. Changes to enrollment and schedule are possible only on a monthly basis when space and staffing allow. Additional “drop-in” days can be arranged when space is available. Requests for drop-in After School care should be made by calling or emailing the office (607.277.7335 or email@example.com) directly as early in the day as possible.
For regularly scheduled After School care EAC Montessori adds charges to your FACTS account in advance and payment is due before service. (Note that September and October monthly fees will both be due by October 1st.) Monthly charges will not be adjusted after they have been added to your account except in the case of school error.
Drop-in use ($22 per day) is charged to your account at the end of the month.
If you prepay for the academic year (10 months), there will be a 10% reduction in the After School charges.
In order to staff our program appropriately, we ask that you PLEASE REGISTER BY AUGUST 21st.
The After School program consists of 3 mini-programs based on class placement: Primary/Extended Day, Junior Level, and Upper Level/Middle School. A delicious and healthy snack is provided in all programs.
Our Primary/Extended Day and Junior Level After School programs consist of child-initiated, open-ended activities, and teacher designed and directed projects. These range from art, music or movement based activities to cooking and building projects. Outside play is a daily component of After School, weather permitting.
Upper Level and Middle School students begin their afternoon with a 30 minute recess, either on the Field of Dreams or in our multi-purpose room. This is followed by an hour of focused homework time. Junior Level Lions are eligible for “homework club” by request of a parent and approval of their classroom teacher.
Each child’s readiness and individual needs are taken into consideration for acceptance in the After School program. Please be aware that our discipline policy is slightly different than during the school day. When a child has broken a rule during our After School program, they are asked to correct the behavior. If they are unable to do so, or the behavior is recurrent, the student will be asked to miss a day of After School in order to work with parents on altering their behavior. If the problem persists, the child may be asked to leave the program.
